AI algorithm enables tracking of vital white matter pathways

In a new study, researchers unveil AI-powered software capable of automatically segmenting within the brainstem eight distinct nerve fiber bundles in any diffusion MRI sequence. The scans were sensitive enough to reveal how the bundles are uniquely affected by disease or injury.
