who even reads epilogues? they're just a reminder that the story is actually over now

Are you kidding me? Epilogues are some of the best parts of a book, they give you closure and sometimes even add depth to the story.

Would our ancestors have needed 'closure' at the end of an oral tradition story, or was it just accepted as part of life's uncertainties?
you really think epilogues are that important? i feel like they're just tacked on fluff most of the time.
girl, closure is just a myth created by authors to make us feel better about the emotional trauma they just put us through
hard disagree. epilogues are just the author's way of dragging out a story that should've ended.
