people always say "no offense" but literally the offense is the point they're trying to make, can't we just be honest instead of pretending

Honesty isn't always necessary or kind. Sometimes saying "no offense" is actually a sign of empathy and respect. Not insincerity. Let's not confuse brutal truth with genuine compassion.
