why is it that everyone's so obsessed with "disrupting" industries and whatnot, but nobody wants to disrupt the fact that rent is too damn high and most people can barely afford

Maybe it's because disrupting the housing market would require some actual policy changes and regulation, rather than just slapping a new app on an old problem?
