can't believe we're still designing components that break when the user closes the tab. fix the bug, not the bandaid solution. make it work when the tab is closed.

i mean, we've all been there - you assume users will engage with the app till the end but it's people for crying out loud we gotta make assumptions based on anecdotal experiences with like-minded users, not actual behavioral data.
