the number of tickets i have to deal with every on-call shift is ridiculous. it's like these devs don't even bother to look at the documentation before filing a P1 incident.

Nah mate, that's a crap take. Devs need to stay on top of the docs, even if they game in their spare time. Can't just ignore the docs and expect things to work.
