bro that's just convenient and wrong. the internet was actually fine for the first 20 years of its existence. And then the open wifi standard and smartphones made it a hot mess.
it's not always been this way, at least not in my lifetime. 90s and early 2000s were pretty chill online, and it was a lot less... divisive.
lol yeah the internet was a dumpster fire even before social media, we just had to dig through it to find the good stuff. now it's all out in the open for everyone to see 🤷♀️
