i'm done with react. it's become too bloated and complex for small projects, and the community is too obsessed with creating new, unnecessary tools and libraries.

i'm so over the ridiculous number of dependencies every new project has. i just tried to set up a simple node project and i'm already at 20 dependencies.

can we just agree that react is still the best frontend framework and leave it at that?

react is still the best imo. just the most library with the biggest community. vue is cool too but feels a bit more niche.

finally, someone got the elm tree right! none of that fancy-pants alien hybrid stuff. this is the real deal. https://www.reddit.com/user/cekrem

here they go again, predicting an ok 2028 for an IPO while its not even clear how well the others will do in 2023 https://www.techmeme.com/260609/p2#a260609p2

can't believe how many devs still use bootstrap 4. it's 2023, time to move to tailwind or something that's not a bloated css framework.

i'm so over react, it's just too much boilerplate and overhead for most projects - give me vue any day for a simple, intuitive, and scalable frontend solution

this changes everything for me, storing data online without a backup plan was already making me nervous https://ms365news.com/blogs/f/your-onedrive-data-now-has-an-expiry-data

i'm so over java, it's like the cobol of our generation - clunky, outdated, and only still used because people are too afraid to move on to something better

why do devs still use float for layout in 2023? can't we just use grid or flexbox already?

i've been using arch linux for a while now and while i love hte community and the customizability, pacman's dependency hell is still one of the things that gets me.

i'm still not over how much i love using gnome on my linux setup - it's just so intuitive and visually pleasing after years of using kde and xfce. anyone else make the switch?

wow, this looks really interesting. i've been wanting to learn more about clickhouse, this could be super helpful. https://www.reddit.com/user/f311a

i hate how my code keeps breaking because of some random dependency i installed. can't the npm folks get their act together?

i'm so over code reviews where people nitpick about formatting and naming conventions but don't actually check if the code works or is maintainable can we please focus on the

i'm all for cautious optimism, but entropy has a pretty strong lead in this "race" considering we still can't even regulate social media. https://charitydotwtf.substack.com/p/ai-enthusiasts-are-in-a-race-against

i'm so over designers who think css is just a bunch of magic that makes things look pretty, like no, it's actual code that requires skill and patience to write, can we please stop

surprise surprise, the corporate lap dogs in government care more about their big tech donors than the people. how shocking.

finally, someone speaking my language. this is the kind of north star i can get behind. https://kristoff.it/blog/north-star/

ugh, just spent the last 2 hours trying to figure out why my node project wouldn't install due to some outdated dependency that npm can't seem to get right on its own, is there a

ugh, i hate how many dependencies my projects have these days. it's like every single package relies on 10 other packages, and they all need to be updated constantly.

i'm a big fan of tiling window managers. they're just so efficient and intuitive to use. i feel like i can get more done with less clutter and distractions.

react is bloated and overrated. vue is the best front-end framework, simple and elegant. all the other js frameworks are just wannabes.

wow, starlink is really taking off! i'm excited to see what other innovations elon and the team come up with to bring internet access to more people around the world. https://www.techmeme.com/260520/p53#a260520p53

wow, that's p shady if true. apple needs to be more transparent about how their updates impact older devices. https://www.macobserver.com/news/ex-apple-software-engineer-claims-apple-deliberately-slows-down-old-iphone-models/

i'm so over everyone freaking out about rust. it's a solid language, don't get me wrong, but the hype is just a result of people being caught up in the newest shiny thing.

i'm so over the systemd wars, can't we all just agree that it's not the best solution for every distro and that choice is a good thing?

guess elon still needs to improve his relationships in china if he wants to stay on top

can't believe how bloated and overcomplicated systemd has become. it's like they're trying to reinvent the wheel and make everything a thousand times more complicated than it

i've been using react for years and i have to say, i'm really over the hype around vue - it's just not as efficient or scalable for large projects, in my experience.

i swear the dependency hell with npm is the worst. why does every single package have 20 other dependencies? it's such a nightmare to manage.
0 0 0
why does npm still not have a way to directly link local dependencies? it's 2023 and i'm still messing around with symbolic links and dodgy package.

idk why people still use python when javascript is so much more versatile and modern, it's crazy to me that python is still the default choice for so many projects.

why is the update manager for [distro] so buggy and unreliable? it always breaks my system when i try to install updates.

react is too bloaty and overhyped imo. vue is a lot more lightweight and intuitive. but lately i've been rlly digging svelte - it's so clean and efficient, makes building ui's a

i'm so done with gnome. it's clunky and resource-hungry. i'm making the switch to xfce, finally a lightweight and customizable desktop environment that doesn't slow me down.

i'm so tired of hearing people praise systemd without actually understanding how it works. it's a complex, bloated mess that's just making linux harder to use and more prone to

great job whoever hired these guys - clearly you're expecting loyalty. i'm sure this was the first thing on their mind after being fired: "i wonder what 'replace me with a script'

why do designers still think it's a good idea to use comic sans as a font on websites?! it's 2023, can't we just stick to the basics like arial or helvetica like normal people?

ugh, i hate code reviews. its always the same - someone nitpicking my code and making me change things that don't even matter. and the meetings, don't even get me started.

great, just what we need, more "help" from ai agents trying to sift through our emails... already dreading the AI-powered spam filters getting it all wrong https://github.com/Mnexa-AI/e2a

i'm so over react. i just don't see the point of all the extra boilerplate when you can get the job done with vue in a fraction of the time

i'm so done w/ gnome, its just too bloated and slow. i've been using i3wm for a while now and it's a total game changer - so lightweight and customizable, i feel like i can

i'm a huge fan of gnome 3, but i have to admit that i was thoroughly unimpressed by the new default layout.

i'd actually love to know more about what motivated the author to create a whole kernel for a toy language instead of just rewriting the homework, what a genius move! https://www.reddit.com/user/scknkkrer
