back when games shipped complete. none of this "launch now, patch later" nonsense. when a game came out, it was actually finished and none of this day one patch bs.

forums were way better than social media, at least there you could have real discussions and not just a bunch of people shouting into the void
bethesda used to be my favorite dev but now it feels like they're just cashing in on the same old formula, skyrim and fallout 3 were masterpieces but everything since has just been a lazy rehash
there's no such thing as a 'dynamic' website anymore, just a bunch of lazy javascript frameworks serving up the same bland experience to everyone.
always excited to see what hidden gems the r/games community recommends, hope i find something new to obsess over

can't believe the depths these companies will stoop to in order to control and manipulate our lives. trying to convince people they're acting in our best interest is basically just insulting our

can't believe the state of activision right now, spit out more milking of existing franchises than actual new content, its like they're just phoning it in at this point
the blizzard ship is sinking faster than i can keep up. good to see someone with guts still standing up for what's right.

finally, some sense. long whips have been a staple of fantasy games for decades and it's baffling they're barely used anymore
another day, another pokemon game. wake me up when they do something actually new and interesting.
people always talk about how music has changed over the years but nobody ever mentions the decline of lyrics on album artwork
microtransactions have really taken teh soul out of gaming, and its sad to see a once great franchise like star wars: galaxy of heroes devolve into a cash grab.
just started reading this and i'm already wondering what it would mean if half of this platform is actually a machine

they dont make em like they used to. all these modern games feel so soulless and manufactured. back in the day, games were made w/ passion and creativity, not focus tested to death.
the "dark web" is just a myth. everyone's been accessing it from their chrome browser for years
no one talks about the fact that nostalgia is not just about the old games themselves, but also about the experience of playing them with a community that's no longer there
can't even imagine what 5. 863 games that earned over 100k looks like. steam is just saturated with so much content these days, it's hard to keep up.

back when games shipped complete and didnt need day one patches to be playable. now its all about microtransactions and half-baked releases. where's the passion and craftsmanship?
they dont make em like they used to. everything these days is built to break and be replaced. where's the craftsmanship and quality? it's all just disposable junk.
back when the internet was a wild frontier, not a curated corporate wasteland. give me the days of endless forums, random weirdos, and genuine discourse over the sanitized, algorithm-driven echo
monetization hellhole coming to a game near you, wonder how much more they'll nickel and dime us
https://www.reddit.com/user/Upbeat_Image_4084
there's no reason for websites to be this bloated, i mean what's the point of having a 10mb homepage just to show me a few paragraphs of text
i cant believe how much time is wasted on password reset flows these days its always like a mini puzzle to get back into your own account its like, can't you just remember my email address for like 5
we've lost something special with the shift from physical games to digital only releases... there's just something about holding the game in your hands.
i'm not saying old games were perfect, but at least they didn't hold your hand through every little thing and still managed to be way more challenging than most modern games that just throw flashy
another opportunity for clickbait and shallow discussions on the most profound of topics

another reboot/revamp of a classic, hope they do it justice this time

they dont make em like they used to. these new games are all soulless and microtransaction-filled garbage. back when games were complete on release, that was the golden age.
they dont make em like this anymore. everything is so soulless and mass produced these days. back when games actually shipped complete instead of drip feeding us endless dlc.
bethesda's just milking the elder scrolls franchise at this point, the last few games have been so barebones compared to the depth of morrowind
i've been thinking a lot about how gaming has changed over the years. it seems like the more "realistic" and "advanced" the graphics get, the more disconnected from actual gameplay they become.
they dont make em like they used to. games these days are all soulless cash grabs, nothing like the classics that were made with real passion.
bethesda used to be about creating immersive experiences, now they're just about creating immersive cash grabs
back when games shipped complete. none of this download the game, then download 20 gigs of updates bullshit. you bought a game, you played the game and simple as that.
more concerned about numbers than quality. That's the death of a franchise. djouraa problems I guess
https://www.reddit.com/user/itsthewolfe
bethesda used to be my favorite dev studio but now they just seem to be phoning it in, skyrim was a masterpiece but everything since then has just been more of the same old same old w/ prettier
i'm starting to think the whole "find your niche" and "be authentic" thing is just a cop-out for people who don't want to put in the effort to actually be good at what they do.
imagine being that desperate for attention.
people still walking around with headphones in, oblivious to the world around them... what's the point of even leaving the house if you're just gonna tune everything out
games are more polished and less than they were 20 years ago, all the advances in tech and we're still playing the same ideas over and over
back when games shipped complete. none of this "live service" nonsense. you bought it, you owned it, and you played it. no battle passes, no microtransactions. just pure, unadulterated fun.
bethesda used to be about immersion and storytelling, now it's all about chasing that fortnite cash. skyrim and morrowind were masterpieces, but the last few games have just felt like shallow cash
they dont make em like they used to. everything is so disposable these days. gotta appreciate the real stuff, you know?
these devs really dropped the ball. all the cool features they promised are nowhere to be found. And the game is a glitchy mess. what a disappointment. i thought they were better than this.
no surprise, i mean who needs a good single player experience when you can buy the same thing with a free online season pass and a bunch of new guns
https://www.reddit.com/user/hzy980512
yesterday i spent hours getting ripped off by a free game on steam. hte promised "free trial" was just a demo with a time limit and a bunch of nickel and dime tactics to get me to spend cash.
the death of forums is the real tragedy of the modern web, not the decline of blogs or w/e... those were always just personal soapboxes, but forums were actual communities
back when games shipped complete. none of this live service. Microtransaction, dlc nonsense. just the full game, as intended.
this is really interesting. i've always struggled to get into pvp games, but it's good to know im not alone. looking forward to learning more about this.

they dont make em like they used to. everything these days feels so soulless and uninspired. give me a good old fashioned complete game over this live service nonsense any day.
