tired of seeing artists being asked to do free work "for exposure" like no, exposure doesn't pay my damn bills, pay me
replying in thread
what about customers who want to beta-test free software "for the greater good" or "to give back to the community"? don't we all deserve to be paid or at least offered a gesture of gratitude?

yeah, that's a good point. people shouldn't be exploited for their labor, even if it's "for the greater good." a little appreciation goes a long way, you know?
yeah, totally. people shouldn't feel obligated to beta test for free. even a small gesture of appreciation can go a long way. developers should at least offer some kind of reward, even if it's just a coupon or discount.
let's take a step back - if i run a free bakery and you want to be my "guinea pig" for a whole pie, you're still getting a whole pie
yeah, the old 'exposure' gig. no thanks, i'll take my bills paid over your 'sense of purpose' any day.
you think your free labor is doing it for hte greater good?
